🎨🏛️ Creative Mastery at the Museo Fortuny (Palazzo Fortuny) — Venice ✨

#hellohalloween

Located at Campo San Beneto (San Marco 3958), 30124 Venice, the Museo Fortuny is housed in the Gothic-Venetian palace once known as Palazzo Pesaro degli Orfei, later transformed by the polymath Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo into his atelier and residence. Founded as a public museum in 1975, it is now part of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia (MUVE).

Inside, visitors explore a compelling fusion of art, design, fashion and theatre: Fortuny’s paintings, textile creations (notably the famed Delphos gown), lighting designs, photography, and stage sets are arranged across historic restored rooms. Highlights include the “Winter Garden” murals, the textile workshop floor, and the restored atelier spaces that retain Fortuny’s original inventive atmosphere.

Whether you’re interested in avant-garde fashion, scenographic lighting or Venice’s rich architectural heritage, the Museo Fortuny offers an intimate yet richly layered visit. The museum is closed on Tuesdays; typical opening hours are 10:00-18:00 (with evening openings Friday & Saturday in high season). Full price adult ticket around €10.
