Patuxai is considered an important landmark of Laos. Anyone who comes to Vientiane must stop by to take pictures here. We came at 2 pm. It was very hot. There were no umbrellas to hide in there. We had to hurry to get to Patuxai and hide from the sun there.
Patuxai was built to honor the soldiers who died during the World War and during the declaration of independence from France. The art in Patuxai is quite familiar to us because it is in the style of various gods, kinnari, and naga, which are very beautifully done. At Patuxai, there is a parking lot which is not far from Patuxai (parking fee is about 5,000 kip). I recommend coming in the evening.
