Patuxai (Victory Gate) [PATUXAI] is a must-see attraction for international tourists. It's a highlight of Vientiane tourism and a monument built in the Lao PDR to commemorate the Lao soldiers who died in World War II and helped regain independence from France. Built in 1957, Patuxai is a beautiful monument with a garden surrounding the grand gate, decorated with Laotian motifs. Photographs give it a European and Asian feel. It's a striking architectural masterpiece. You can climb up to admire the top, and if you visit in the evening, you'll be able to witness the beautiful dancing fountain. It's truly impressive.
