Nature Escape in La Forêt, Vientiane

Just about an hour’s drive from Vientiane, La Forêt is a serene eco-park tucked away in the middle of the jungle, a perfect weekend getaway, whether for a day trip or an overnight stay. The property offers both day-use and camping packages. When we visited in April 2025, accommodation options were limited to camping tents, but everything was available for rent on-site, from tents and stoves to barbecue sets. There’s also a small mart inside the park (open until around 5–6 PM) where you can buy basic food items, though it’s best to bring some snacks or ready food from home.

Getting There:
You can either drive your own car or use the transport service provided by La Forêt, which conveniently departs from Khopchaidee Restaurant in downtown Vientiane. The journey is smooth and easy to arrange.

Activities:
La Forêt offers a mix of fun outdoor experiences such as ziplining, canopy walks, and cycling, which we enjoyed the most. It’s a great spot to reconnect with nature, breathe in fresh air, and unwind away from the city’s pace.

Recommendation:
Perfect for a short and refreshing escape from Vientiane, especially for those who love adventure and the calm of the forest.
