My first visit to Laos was filled with delightful surprises, starting with the simplicity and charm of the airport. It felt like a breeze navigating through, with plenty of options for SIM cards, money exchange, transport, and cafes. After a tasty lunch that cost just 11,000 kip, I picked up a SIM card for 79,000 kip (8 days of hassle-free connectivity!) and exchanged 1.6 million kip to set me up for the adventure ahead.

With all the essentials sorted, I hopped into a taxi and made my way to the train station, eagerly anticipating the next leg of my journey. Destination: Vang Vieng.
