A Journey Through the Ancient Temple of Kimiidera from Osaka

Hey everyone, today I'm sharing a lesser-known yet healing route from Osaka to Kimiidera, taking you on a journey filled with ancient charm.

📍Transportation
1️⃣ JR Line: Depart from Osaka Station, take the JR Hanwa Line to Wakayama Station, then transfer to the JR Kisei Main Line and get off at Kimiidera Station. From there, it's a 5-minute walk to Kimiidera. The entire trip takes about 1.5 hours, and you can enjoy the rural scenery of Kansai along the way.
2️⃣ Nankai Electric Railway: Take the Nankai Electric Railway from Namba Station to Wakayamashi Station, then transfer to a bus to Kimiidera. If you buy the Wakayama Day Pass, you can enjoy unlimited bus rides in Wakayama for the day, which is very cost-effective!

🕙Itinerary
Depart from Osaka in the morning and visit the main hall of Kimiidera upon arrival. The ancient architecture exudes a sense of history, and standing in front of the hall, you can almost feel the bustling atmosphere from a thousand years ago. Next, take a stroll along the temple's paths, shaded by ancient trees and accompanied by occasional bird songs, adding to the tranquility.
For lunch, dine at a nearby Japanese restaurant and savor local Kansai cuisine, such as Wakayama's specialty plum dishes, which are sweet and sour and very appetizing.
In the afternoon, visit the temple's garden, which is beautiful in all seasons. In spring, cherry blossoms bloom, and in autumn, the maple leaves are fiery red. No matter when you visit, you'll be greeted with stunning scenery. After exploring the garden, sit down at the temple's teahouse, order a cup of matcha, and quietly reflect on your journey through the ancient temple.
