[Tomogashima] 🏝️Wakayama

🏖️Overview:
Tomogashima is a group of uninhabited islands collectively named after the four islands of Chinoshima, Torashima, Kamishima, and Okinoshima floating in the Kitan Strait in Wakayama Prefecture🍊. These islands played an important role in protecting Osaka Bay for a long time, triggered by the arrival of the Black Ships at the end of the Edo period. In the Meiji period, the former army🪖 equipped the islands with cannons and turned them into a fortress where soldiers were stationed.

💞Reasons why we recommend it:
When we arrived at the ferry⛴️ terminal to cross to Tomogashima, it was quite crowded. Be careful of the ship's staff. Now, on the island, it's pleasant to catch a glimpse of the remains of the brick🧱 gun batteries, and you'll feel as if you've traveled back in time. You can also visit the main spots as if you were hiking, and experience the historical remains first-hand.

📍Location:
Kada, Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture

📍Access:
🚃: Get off at Kada Station on the Nankai Kada Line, about 20 minutes on foot
⛴️: Tomogashima Kisen, departing from Kada Port, about 20 minutes
