Wakayama Hashiguiiwa Rocks

The famous Hashikawa Rock in Kushimoto Town, Wakayama Prefecture, is a row of rocks extending from the coast to the sea. It is about 850 meters long and consists of 40 rocks of different sizes and shapes. The Japanese word "Hashi" means pile, and Hashikawa Rock means a bridge pier made of rock. The legend of its formation is that this "bridge pier" was created by the master of string and the demon demon.
