A Japanese-style sugar factory transformed into a cultural and creative venue, come to the "Xiaolong Cultural Park" to see the art of parade

#2024TravelReview

The old sugar factory has been transformed into a cultural park! In the past few years, the revitalization of old warehouses, dormitories and military dependents' villages has been very popular, especially in the southern part of the country, where there are many sugar factories and sugar train relics, which are very suitable for transformation into cultural and creative tourism venues. The #Xiaolong Cultural Park we visited this time was rebuilt from the warehouse group of Jiali Sugar Factory.

Xiaolong Cultural Park was formerly the Xiaolong Sugar Factory, which was the first modern sugar factory established in Taiwan during the Japanese colonial period, also known as the Jiali Sugar Factory. The word "Xiaolong" comes from the Siraya tribe, so the content displayed in the park should be the culture of the Pingpu tribe.

The warehouse group mainly consists of three permanent halls: Tainan Art Center, Siraya Pingpu Cultural Center, Xiaolong Children's Library, and art theme exhibitions that change from time to time. The Art Museum is quite interesting. It uses various forms of techniques to display Taiwan's traditional art, such as Jianjiao, Songjiang Formation, and burning the king's boat. It is quite interesting.

The entire park covers a large area. Outside the museum, there are sugar transport tracks, small trains and other equipment left by the early sugar factory, as well as the Taiwan Sugar Ice Factory, which is still in operation. The sandwich ice cream at the sugar factory is very memorable, especially in the hot south, it is best to eat ice to cool down.
