Wangxian Scenic Valley

Transport 🚉:

You can easily reach the valley from Shangrao by high-speed train. Once you arrive at the station, there are buses that depart every hour from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM. You can either book through the Didi app (use the Chinese version) or ask for help at the tourist office in the East Bus Station. 🚌

It’s better to arrive in the afternoon to avoid the intense summer heat 🌞 and to experience the village both during the day and at night 🌙.

We stayed one night in Shangrao, then the following morning traveled to the nearest small city close to the scenic valley (which is also a bus stop). After visiting, we stayed there overnight and returned to Shangrao the next day by bus, then caught the train to our next destination. 🚍

Important 🚨: Be aware that after dark, Didi doesn’t work in the area, and taxis charge almost ten times more than what you'd pay during the day to get back to the village. So plan ahead! 💸

We arrived in the afternoon, and while it was still quite hot, the village was stunning. The area is quite large and will take a couple of hours to explore fully. Visiting in the afternoon gives you the chance to enjoy the sights in daylight and later experience the magical atmosphere at night. 🌇✨

There are plenty of restaurants and cafes, so you can easily grab a hot meal if needed 🍲.

Also, make sure to walk around! There are various performances and spectacles happening at different times throughout the day—though they’re in Chinese, so we didn’t fully understand them, but still worth seeing. 🎭

Tips 💡:

Sun Protection: Bring sunscreen 🌞 or an umbrella ☂️ for the hottest hours.

Stay Hydrated: Water can be hard to find at reasonable prices, so it’s a good idea to bring your own bottle 💧.

Night Transport: Be cautious when returning at night, as taxis charge much higher rates than during the day 🚕💸.
