I'm giving up on Sanya, this place is just too amazing

I've wanted to visit Wanning for so long, here's a detailed 3-day 2-night itinerary.

1️⃣ Why visit:
• Just 112 km from Sanya and 139 km from Haikou, reachable by high-speed rail/driving within 2 hours, but costs much less than Sanya.

2️⃣ Transportation
1. Flying to Haikou Meilan Airport is most economical, with "Meilan Station" right below the airport.
2. 🚅 High-speed rail: Meilan→Wanning Station (54 min, frequent) or Shenzhou Station (42 min, fewer trains but closer to attractions).
3. Renting a car upon arrival offers most freedom: Hainan highways have no toll booths, gas is about ¥1/liter more expensive than inland (includes "toll fees").
4. Without driving: Airport train→Shenzhou Station→Didi/B&B pickup; electric scooters available in Riyue Bay/Shimei Bay (¥60/day).

• For resort stays: Shimei Bay/Shenzhou Peninsula's Le Méridien, Westin, Grand Hyatt (¥800-1500, prefer newly opened within 3 years).

• Budget + food lovers: Xinglong Town (¥200-400), walkable to Southeast Asian food street.

5️⃣ Food
Xinglong Southeast Asian Cuisine: Curry fish balls, durian fried ice.
Nyonya Flavor: Laksa, black BBQ pork.
Old Cai Village Coconut Chicken (Shenzhou Peninsula branch): Tender chicken, rich coconut flavor (¥80/person).
Night market snacks: Lingshui sour noodles, mango with soy sauce, qingbuliang dessert.

6️⃣ Pitfalls to avoid
❌ Bali Village: ¥20 ticket, 15-min visit, tons of mosquitoes, only worth one sky gate photo.

❌ Shanqin Bay: Dirty wild beach, terrible roads, easy for cars to get stuck.

❌ Qiaohai Pasture: Heavily filtered attraction, tethered cows, poor experience.

7️⃣ Tips
• Best season: October-April for calm waves and sunny days; July-August has big waves for advanced surfers (sun protection essential).

• Tipping: ¥20-30 tips for surf instructors/photographers is customary.
