Cafe Batavia - Kota Tua Jakarta

A stroll through Jakarta's Kota Tua (the Old City of Batavia) isn't complete without a stop at Batavia Cafe to unwind. Housed in a beautifully preserved 19th-century building that once accommodated colonial officers, the two-story cafe elegantly blends history with comfort. Its interior tells a story, offering a graceful atmosphere to enjoy a wide array of drinks and dishes. During a recent visit, my friends and I took refuge here after exploring the nearby museums. Sipping rich coffee and sampling traditional Indonesian snacks as the rain fell outside made for a perfectly serene afternoon.
