Introducing Whitby, a charming seaside town that's a must-see on any trip to Northern England!
🌊 A fairytale-like landscape
A Victorian fishing port and charming pastel-colored wooden houses line both sides of the harbor. You'll feel as if you've stepped into a fairytale world.
📸 The best must-see viewpoints
1. 199 Steps: Climb the stairs for breathtaking views of the town and harbor. The breathtaking scenery will leave you gasping for breath.
2. Whale Bone Arch: The view overlooking the town with this iconic arch in the background is a truly photogenic spot.
⛪ A Clifftop Where History and Romance Coexist
· St. Mary's Church: A church and cemetery perched on a cliff. Those who are buried here enjoy the peace of "looking out over the sea and watching spring flowers bloom." Whitby Abbey: Built in 657, this historic abbey now stands as a magnificent ruin, but the atmosphere that inspired the Dracula novels still lingers. Admission is £13.50, and if you wander behind the walls, there's an unofficial vantage point where the low wall offers a clear view of the entire abbey!
⚓ A Stroll Along the Sea
The two lighthouses perched at the end of the harbour are the town's landmark. They're perfect for taking panoramic photos of the coastline or simply strolling along the pier. As you walk, listening to the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves, you'll feel time slowing down.
Whitby is one of the most picturesque and beautiful towns I've ever encountered in England. I hope you too will fall in love with its fairytale charm!
