Many ornamental shrubs and trees (such as rowan or wild rose) still display vibrant red and orange fruits and berries in late October. These colorful accents, clinging to the newly bare branches, are a symbolic final act of nature, providing sustenance for birds and wildlife. Although undeniably beautiful, these fruits also carry a note of farewell, emphasizing the necessary cyclical nature of the season and highlighting the sense of passing time.
