Phra Chao Yai Sam Phop - Wat Mongkol Kovitharam

This beautiful temple on the banks of Huai Wang Nong Reservoir houses the Phra Chao Yai Samphob (Phra Buddha Si Sattanakha Ariyawisutthathibodi Triloknath), a large Buddha image in the Naga Parak posture. Inside, relics of the Lord Buddha and other relics are enshrined within the image. "Phra Chao Yai Samphob" represents the ruler of the three worlds: heaven, the human world, and the underworld. Standing in front of the image is a magnificently beautiful emerald green and pearly white Naga statue, a truly magnificent sight.

The surrounding area is a public park on the banks of Huai Wang Nong Reservoir, also known as Bueng Bua Park. People often visit here to stroll, exercise, and pay their respects to the Phra Chao Yai Samphob statues for good fortune. The evening atmosphere during sunset is shady and cool, with beautiful reservoir views. It's a perfect place to relax and make merit. If you're visiting Ubon, don't forget to stop by and make merit.
