Wuhan Autumn Viewing: Sharing a Lesser-Known Hiking Spot in Jiangxia

Jiangxia is truly a hidden treasure. Surrounded by mountains and water, it’s perfect for hiking, cycling around the lake, taking kids out, camping, and escaping the city on weekends to enjoy a slower pace of life, which feels especially pleasant.

Here are 11 lesser-known spots with beautiful autumn scenery and fewer crowds:
1️⃣ Canglong Island Wetland Park
Great for picnics and cycling. Every autumn and winter, the ginkgo and maple leaves 🍁 here attract many outdoor photography enthusiasts.
2️⃣ Dahuashan in Jiangxia
One of the hiking race points. The trail crosses three or four small hills, with colorful forests on both sides and wild persimmons along the way.
3️⃣ Zhupishan
The trail is shaped like a reclining dragon with five or six bends. The entire path to the summit is paved. The mountain isn’t high, and each bend offers a wide view overlooking the old town, giving a vibe similar to Little Qingdao.
4️⃣ Jiangxia Mountain Ring Greenway
In autumn and winter, the colorful forests make it perfect for cycling in the mild weather.
5️⃣ Qinglongshan National Forest Park
Compared to the ring greenway, this has more slopes and steps. Along the way, there are ancient bridges and pavilions. The whole round trip takes about an hour and is easy to complete.
6️⃣ Qinglongshan Reservoir
There’s a large bald cypress forest along the reservoir. Nearby, you can pick oranges 🍊. Camping ⛺️ and taking kids here on weekends is really enjoyable.
7️⃣ Xiongtinbi Park
The open view from the mountain top feels like Little Qingdao. The park has an ancient charm suitable for all ages. The bamboo forest here is also great for photos and check-ins.
8️⃣ Bafenshan
A great place to watch sunrise and sunset. The summit platform overlooks Zhifang city and Jiangxia’s mountains, sea, and clouds.
9️⃣ Xiaozhuwan
One of the top ten most beautiful villages in Jingchu. The village features ancient-style architecture everywhere—from houses, streets, walls, potted plants, courtyards, to corridors—exuding an artistic atmosphere.
1️⃣0️⃣ Baiyundong
A mountain path with scenic views at every step, mostly with an ancient style. There’s also a tourism education base that kids really like.
1️⃣1️⃣ Longquanshan
Benches along the way for resting. The summit is windy but offers wide views on three sides. Nearby are tourist attractions and Longquan Temple to explore.
