The treasure city Wuhu, Western-style architecture by the Yangtze River worth seeing

The treasure city Wuhu,
at the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Qingyi River,
there are some very distinctive Western-style buildings,
recording the hundred-year modern history of Wuhu.

💚Old Wuhu Customs House
Located in Binjiang Park, Jinghu District, it is the earliest customs in Anhui Province. After the signing of the Yantai Treaty between China and Britain in 1876, Wuhu was opened as a trading port. A hundred years ago, it was the place for collecting taxes on the import and export of steamships and for inspecting smuggling, managed by the chief tax officer of the British Consulate. Pan Zanhua once served as the supervisor of Wuhu Customs. The Old Wuhu Customs House building is a typical representative of the arcade-style architecture, and its charm lies in its objective record of the marks of the times.

💚Former Residence of the British Consul in Wuhu
Located on Yugeng Mountain, the two-story building was constructed in 1889 and later became the office building of Wuhu Neisi Senior Industrial Vocational School. The entire area has now become a wine culture and creative industry park.

💚Former Site of the British Consulate in Wuhu
Situated at the top of Fanluo Mountain, it has a red brick wall structure and a bluestone masonry exposed foundation. With broad verandas on three sides and tall French windows, the building has a classical beauty.

💚Wuhu Catholic Church
Right next to Yugeng Mountain, this building was built by the French at the end of 1889 and has been rebuilt since then. It is the second-largest Catholic church in East China, second only to the Xujiahui Cathedral in Shanghai, and is known as the 'Notre-Dame of the South of the Yangtze River'.

❤️All attractions are within one kilometer of each other, close to the river, and can be reached on foot, all for free.
