It was first built during the Qianning period of the Tang Dynasty (894-898) and was originally named Yongqing Temple. It was renamed Guangji Temple during the Dazhong Xiangfu period of the Song Dynasty (1008-1016).
The architectural complex of Guangji Temple is built on the mountain. We walked from bottom to top through the Hall of Heavenly Kings (also known as the "Mountain Gate"), the Hall of Medicine Buddha, the Hall of the Great Buddha (also known as the "Big Buddha Hall"), the Hall of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and the Guangji Temple Pagoda. There are 88 steps in total. The four-story halls extend from the foot of the mountain to halfway up the mountain. The back hall is dozens of meters higher than the front hall.
📍Detailed address: No. 215, Jiuhua Middle Road, Jinghu District, Wuhu City, a 4A scenic spot
📝Note tips:
Drawing lots at Guangji Temple: Walk straight back from the entrance, and you will find it in Jiuhua Palace, on the left side of the main hall. Each lot costs 5 yuan. You can only ask for one thing per lottery! If you ask for many things, you must pray separately.
How to draw lots: Be pious and respectful, and bow to the Buddha three times. Silently recite Namo Great Vow Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva three times, kneel before Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva with your hands clasped together, and silently think about what you want.
There is a vegetarian restaurant inside Guangji Temple where you can eat.
