The "Second Best Spring in the World" is located next to Huishan Temple in Xihui Park, Wuxi. It is a rectangular garden within a garden with two wells and a pool, some Taihu stone rockery, and several osmanthus trees, forming a refined and secluded small garden. There is a large square pool below the spring pool in the garden. There is a dragon head carved on the wall of the pool. The shape is rather strange, resembling a dragon but not a dragon. It is called the "stone dragon head". The spring water above is injected into the pool through the dragon head all year round.
The spring water in the pool is of very good quality and transparent. It is said that Lu Yu, the tea saint of the Tang Dynasty, once tasted the spring water here himself and called it "the second best in the world." The Second Spring is not only famous for its sweet and delicious water, but also for the famous erhu piece "Erquan Yingyue" sung by Blind A Bing, which is elegant, majestic, combined with both strength and softness, and deeply touching.
When I was studying in Wuxi in my early years, whenever my classmates and friends came to Wuxi, the "Second Spring in the World" was a must-see attraction. Take photos and check in in front of the spring to leave lasting memories!
