Take a high-speed train to Wuxi and relax with a stroll through the unfamiliar city.
1. Nanchan Temple. It's a short walk from Wuxi Station. Nanchan Temple is one of the 480 temples in the Southern Dynasties. The entrance for visitors is the Miaoguang Pagoda, which was originally built during the Northern Song Dynasty. The current pagoda was rebuilt during the Ming Dynasty and renovated in the 1980s.
2. Nanchang Street. From Nanchan Temple, you can walk along Nanchang Street, which features small bridges, streams, and ancient alleys, typical of Jiangnan water towns. Just walk around and see what you like. You'll find fallen leaves that haven't been swept up, street vendors selling various items, and a relaxed and lively atmosphere.
3. Xiaolou Alley. The alley is not long and features many historical sites and former residences of famous scholars and officials. However, some of them are closed and others are open but commercialized. The lottery shop at the entrance of Caishen Temple is indeed a smart choice, and the business is mutually beneficial.
