Wuxi Lingshan Giant Buddha, the world's largest bronze statue of Buddha

#2月好地方2025

Lingshan Giant Buddha, a huge bronze standing Buddha on the shore of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, is equivalent to the Buddha Memorial Hall in Fo Guang Shan in Kaohsiung. It is an attraction that is hard to ignore when you come to the small town of Lingshan. The Giant Buddha is 88 meters tall and was cast with more than 700 tons of bronze. It is very spectacular and is the largest standing bronze statue of Buddha in the world.

Rather than a Buddhist temple, it is more of a tourist attraction. The entire park is quite commercialized. It also has the Brahma Palace Museum, which is extremely magnificent and the ticket price is nearly NT$1,000.

The base of the Lingshan Giant Buddha is also very large, reaching three stories high. Inside is a Buddhist Culture Exhibition Hall, which displays the culture and stories of the Five Buddhas of the Five Directions in China and the three lines of Buddhism, Han, Tibetan and Southern Buddhism. It is worth visiting.

The Lingshan Scenic Area around the Giant Buddha is also very popular. It has many wonderful attractions such as the Brahma Palace, the Nine Dragons Bathing, and the World's No. 1 Palm. It is not too much to spend half a day there, after all, the tickets are expensive.
