Must-Visit Attractions in Wuxi: Two Recommendations!

The most impressive place during my trip to Wuxi was undoubtedly the Lingshan Grand Buddha. Standing at a staggering height of 88 meters, this is one of the largest bronze Buddha statues in the world. The grandeur you feel as you approach it is indescribable and cannot be fully captured in photos. Set against the backdrop of lush forests and Taihu Lake, the statue exudes a serene and majestic aura. As you ascend the spiral staircase to get closer, you'll be amazed by the intricate carvings and the delicate expressions on the statue. The surrounding area also offers plenty to see, including the Brahma Palace, Five Mudra Mandala, and the Nine Dragons Bathing Buddha performance. These attractions allow you to experience Buddhist art and culture all in one place. The Nine Dragons Bathing Buddha performance, in particular, is a spectacular reenactment of the Buddhist birth legend, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the visit.

Another must-visit spot is Nanchang Street. Connected to Nanchan Temple, this pedestrian street is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, representing the essence of Wuxi. During the day, you can enjoy a peaceful stroll in a tranquil atmosphere, while at night, the lanterns light up, creating a picturesque night view. The street is lined with cafes, tea houses, and traditional snack shops along the canal, making it hard to resist stopping by. There are also numerous small photo spots in the alleys, perfect for capturing memories. Street food, such as skewers and Wuxi's signature sweet dishes, is a must-try to fully immerse yourself in the local vibe.

If you have one day in Wuxi, I recommend spending the morning leisurely exploring the Lingshan Grand Buddha Scenic Area, and then heading to Nanchang Street in the afternoon and evening for a stroll and some local delicacies. This itinerary allows you to experience Wuxi's majestic nature, cultural heritage, and charming nighttime scenery, giving you a deep appreciation of the city's unique charm.
