🌸Spring trip ~ Wuxi Lingshan Scenic Spot

Lingshan is a large scenic spot, among which the Lingshan Giant Buddha is its symbol. With its back against Lingshan and facing Taihu Lake, it is 88 meters tall, making it the largest outdoor bronze statue of Sakyamuni in the world, 17 meters taller than the Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan and 42 meters taller than the Statue of Liberty in the United States.

The Lingshan Giant Buddha, together with the Tian Tan Buddha in Hong Kong in the south, the Leshan Giant Buddha in Sichuan in the west, the Yungang Buddha in Shanxi in the north, and the Longmen Giant Buddha in Luoyang, Henan in the Central Plains, are collectively known as China's "Five Directions and Five Buddhas". 

Figures 1 and 2 show "Nine Dragons Bathing" which recreates the mythical scene of the birth of Sakyamuni. The combination of technology (musical fountain) and religious ritual is very attractive to believers.
