Loved it, loved it! The hotel where Jay Chou stayed is truly different!

For this trip to Wuxi, I chose a combination of ancient town and nature. Besides enjoying the scenery of Taihu Lake, I specially stayed at the Meijingge Select Hotel located in Dangkou Ancient Town, experiencing a slow Jiangnan lifestyle that feels like traveling through time✨

First, let's talk about Meijingge Select Hotel · Bishantang. It’s literally made for taking photos! The hotel architecture perfectly blends the Jiangnan elements of gray tiles and white walls with modern design language. The water courtyard at the entrance has a mirror-like effect, making every shot look like a masterpiece. Especially when the lights come on at dusk, the building’s outline and the ancient town skyline complement each other beautifully—it's just stunning!

📍Location & Transportation
The hotel is located in the core area of Dangkou Ancient Town (specific address: inside Dangkou Ancient Town Scenic Area, Xishan District, Wuxi). It’s about a 20-minute taxi ride from Wuxi East Station. The advantage of staying in the ancient town is that you can enjoy the quiet ancient streets and alleys alone early in the morning, experiencing the most authentic Jiangnan water town charm.

🛏️Room Experience
- The rooms retain traditional wooden beam structures, but the bathroom facilities are all modern
- Some room types have courtyards or waterside terraces, perfect for brewing a pot of Biluochun tea and watching the small bridges and flowing water—very relaxing
- I especially love their bathrobes; the fabric is super comfortable, and I want to buy one to take home

📸Must-Photograph Spots
1. Lobby bar: floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water courtyard, with beautiful reflections on sunny days
2. Room bay window: pair it with a book and tea set for that Jiangnan gentlewoman vibe
3. Hotel back alley: bluestone pavement + white walls and black tiles, perfect for silhouette shots
4. Lantern area at night: the light and shadow effect when the red lanterns are lit is amazing

🏯Nearby Activities
- Dangkou Ancient Town itself is not big; 2 hours of slow strolling is enough
- Historical sites like Huashi Yizhuang and Wang Xin’s Former Residence are within walking distance
- Highly recommend taking a punt boat ride (30 RMB/person); listening to the boatwoman humming local tunes is a special experience

🍜Food Tips
- Hotel breakfast includes local snacks like Wuxi soup dumplings and tofu pudding
- Must-try in the ancient town: fried pork, Dangkou crispy cake, and osmanthus glutinous rice lotus root
- For coffee, visit the Maokong Bookstore at the entrance of the ancient town

💡Useful Tips:
1. It’s recommended to stay on weekdays as the ancient town is crowded on weekends
2. Bring a thick jacket in autumn and winter; it gets quite cold by the water at night
3. The hotel provides ancient town entrance tickets, so no need to buy separately
4. You can rent Hanfu for photos (the hotel cooperates with local shops)
