The Ancient Guanyin Temple is located in Luohandong Village, Dongda Street, Chang'an District, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province, and is a thousand-year-old temple with a long history.

Historical Origin
The Ancient Guanyin Temple was first built in the second year of Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty (628 AD). According to legend, this place was originally formed from the body of the Jinghe Dragon King after he was beheaded. To resolve the resentment, Emperor Taizong of Tang, following Xu Maogong's suggestion, built the Guanyin Hall, which later evolved into the Ancient Guanyin Chan Temple. The temple enshrines the Thousand-hand and Thousand-eye Guanyin, and the legend of Qin Qiong and Yuchi Jingde transforming into door gods also originated here.

Architectural Features

The temple is grand in scale, covering an area of over 300 mu. It has all the essential structures such as the mountain gate, bell tower, and main hall, preserving the classic layout of Tang Dynasty architecture. The overall style is ancient and elegant, imbued with a rich historical and cultural atmosphere.

• Thousand-Year Ginkgo Tree: Inside the temple, there is a ginkgo tree said to have been personally planted by Emperor Taizong Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. Over 1400 years old, it has been listed in the national catalog of protected ancient and famous trees. Every year from late October to mid-to-late November, the leaves turn from green to yellow, and falling leaves resemble rain, creating a spectacular scene of "a single tree forming a forest, with springs and trees coexisting."
