[China] The spectacular thousand-year-old ginkgo tree! "Ancient Kannon Zen Temple" on the outskirts of Xi'an

Located in Luohandong Village on the outskirts of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China, Kokannon Zenji is a thousand-year-old temple on Mount Zhongnan that was founded during the Tang Dynasty.

In the grounds of this small temple on the outskirts of town stands a giant ginkgo tree, revered as the "Thousand-Year Ginkgo."

The majestic old ginkgo tree turns the entire area into a dazzling golden carpet in mid-November, creating a truly spectacular sight! Tourists come from all over China to see this magnificent view.

A golden Kannon statue is enshrined under the ginkgo tree,
and the world of paradise filled with light spreads out before you, making you want to put your hands together in prayer.

Admission is free.
During this season, food stalls and other shops are set up in front of the temple.

Opening hours: 08:00-17:00

Open all year round

Access: Take bus 921/916 from Xi'an and get off at the "Nanshi Village" stop, then walk for about 15 minutes.
