About my hiking in Gannan, stepping into the real-life version of "The Lost Tomb"

Many people don't know about Gannan, but it's actually a hiking paradise. In summer, it transforms into a realm that feels like World of Warcraft meets celestial paradise. During my trip, every location felt like a real-life scene from "The Lost Tomb."

😍Zagana
This place has the mysterious aura of the Zhangjia Ancient Building from Bana, the entrance to the underground palace of the Lu King's Tomb, and various rock formations that resemble World of Warcraft.

Labrang Monastery + Langmusi Temple
It feels like Zhang Qiling's loneliness within the temple. The vast meadows under morning mist look like the Divine Tree. Whatever scene you're looking for, Gannan has it all! We spent less than 3,000 RMB per person. We arranged a customized route in advance, stopping whenever we wanted. A local driver picked us up from Lanzhou and also served as our guide—very professional and safe. Since we're all outdoor hiking enthusiasts, we stayed a few extra days in Zagana. Everything went smoothly.

Gannan's average altitude is 3,000+ meters. Each hiking route has an elevation gain of 1,000+ meters, with the highest reaching over 4,000 meters. Most areas are no-signal zones, uninhabited for eight hours straight. Remember to bring water, trail meals, and extra supplies. The UV rays are strong, so sun protection is a must. The temperature varies greatly between day and night—pack a lightweight down jacket and a windbreaker. Don’t forget stylish outfits for great grassland photos! 🤩

Pro tip: Gansu is extremely dry. Bring a portable humidifier—it’s a lifesaver.
