Xiamen Botanical Garden: A Green Paradise in the City

We stepped into Wanshi Botanical Garden as the morning mist was just beginning to lift, the granite boulders rising quietly among lush pockets of green 🌿🪨🌤️. Paths curved around the rocks, leading us through bamboo groves, tropical flowers, and towering palms that filtered the light into soft, shifting patterns. The air smelled of earth and water, cool and steady, as if the garden was breathing in time with the mountain itself.
At the heart of it, ponds lay still under lotus leaves, their surfaces broken only by the occasional ripple of fish or falling petals 🌸🎋🐟. Further up, the rocks stood like guardians, some etched with old inscriptions, others left bare to the wind. From higher points, the city peeked through in brief glimpses, distant and faint. Wanshi Botanical Garden didn’t feel arranged — it felt discovered, a place where stone and plant lived side by side in quiet balance 🌳🕰️🏞️.
