Xiamen Hiking Route Recommendation: Weekend Oxygen Therapy at Tianzhu Mountain

This weekend, I went hiking at Tianzhu Mountain Forest Park in Haicang, Xiamen. The park is vast and mainly divided into two major areas, East and West. This time, I hiked the West Route, which I highly recommend. It features lush green mountains, clear streams, and waterfalls, offering a refreshing and oxygen-rich environment—a true treat for both the eyes and lungs.

West Route:
West Gate → Haoyue Lake → Four Seasons Flower Valley → Yuanyang Stream → Small Canyon → Liang'er Reservoir → Return to West Gate

Along the way, you'll encounter streams, mountain peaks, waterfalls, and reservoirs:
✅ Haoyue Lake: You can walk along the wooden boardwalk by the lake, enjoying the stunning lake views.
✅ Four Seasons Flower Valley to Yuanyang Stream: This section mainly features grasslands and streams. Many families bring their kids here to play in the water, and some people enjoy tea or stream trekking in the shallow waters.
✅ On the way up to the Small Canyon, you'll see two waterfalls. The first one is near a teahouse and is relatively small, while the second one, closer to Liang'er Reservoir, has a larger drop and is more spectacular.
✅ Liang'er Reservoir: Features a mural of a girl and a sloped grassy field.

Tianzhu Mountain is relatively far, so self-driving is recommended. If that's not convenient, you can take Metro Line 2 to "Tianzhu Mountain Station," exit from Exit 1 to the East Gate, and then take a bus to the West Gate. Note that the West Gate is a bit far from the metro station.

If you can't walk the entire route, you can opt for a shorter segment and take the sightseeing shuttle for the rest. Sightseeing shuttles are available at the West Gate, Four Seasons Flower Valley, and Liang'er Reservoir. The fare is 10 RMB per person from the West Gate to Four Seasons Flower Valley and 20 RMB to Liang'er Reservoir.
