Less Crowded Sea Viewing Spots: Fewer People, Beautiful Scenery, Exclusive Sea Views

If you don’t want to be packed in crowded popular beaches, this guide to lesser-known seaside spots is perfect for you. From tranquil tidal flats to hidden sea viewing points, experience the undiscovered charm of Xiamen’s coastline.

🌅 Less Crowded Sea Viewing Spots: Fewer People, Beautiful Scenery, Exclusive Sea Views
Wuyuan Bay Wetland Park・Sea Viewing Boardwalk
This is not a traditional beach but a sea viewing boardwalk surrounded by greenery. The boardwalk extends along Wuyuan Bay, with a calm bay on one side where egrets often skim the water’s surface; on the other side, dense mangroves rustle in the breeze. Taking a walk here in the early morning or evening, you’ll hardly encounter many people and can see the distant Wuyuan Bay Bridge. Every photo you take is fresh and soothing. It’s also convenient to get here—take Metro Line 2 to “Wuyuan Bay Station” and walk 10 minutes to the boardwalk entrance.

Xitouxia・Quiet Coast Next to the “Wedding Photography Base”
Xitouxia is famous for its wedding photography base, but few know there’s a hidden small beach beside it. The beach is short but has fine sand and clean water, and most importantly, very few tourists. There are several colorful small houses by the beach, which, combined with the blue sky and sea, make for great photos. Come after 3 PM when the sunlight is softer; sitting on the beach listening to the waves feels more relaxing than at popular beaches. It’s easy to reach by cycling along Huandao Road, and there are free parking spots nearby.

Shizhoutou Beach・View “Sunset Over the Sea + City Silhouette”
This is a secret beach often visited by locals, located on the eastern section of Huandao Road, near Yefeng Village but quieter. The advantage here is that you can see both the sunset over the sea and the city silhouette of Xiamen Island. At dusk, the sunset dyes the sea orange-red, and the outlines of distant skyscrapers gradually blur, creating a particularly atmospheric scene. There are rocks by the beach, and at low tide, you can pick up small sea snails. It’s perfect for those who enjoy quietly watching the sunset.
