Ningbo Surroundings|Xianju Gongyu Village Hiking, with Mountains, Water, and Bamboo Forests

In the depths of the mountains in Xianju, Zhejiang, there is a village that is still not accessible by road. Even mules might find it difficult to climb up. Transporting supplies relies on human carriers or small cable cars, costing 4 yuan per kilogram.

📖Itinerary:
Gongyu Village is divided into Shangping Village and Xiaping Village, collectively known as Gongyu Village.
Hidden in a bamboo forest deep in the mountains,
It is not an exaggeration to say it is isolated from the world.
It can only be reached by hiking, and it is unknown who discovered it first.
It is praised by travelers as the "last Shangri-La in East China".

Although the scenery is not as grand as the mountains and rivers on the Sichuan-Tibet Road,
The bamboo forests, small streams, lush vegetation, and comfortable weather
Provide a very friendly yet challenging experience for beginner hikers.

Navigate to Qian Keng Village (or You Ling Keng) Parking Lot in Tianshi Town, Xianju County

🚶Total length: Measured with the Two Steps app, round trip 7.6 kilometers

✅Climbing from the right fork follows the water route, offering more beautiful scenery. The left side is all steps. We chose to go up the right and down the left. The steps on the way down are a test for the knees, making us deeply realize that climbing up is easier than coming down.

✅Highlights along the way:
Ancient paths, small streams, bamboo forests, rocks, vines. Walking and stopping, going up and down, the scenery is quiet and not tiring.
Possibly due to the off-season, there were no small shops or farm stays along the way.

🏠Accommodation Recommendations:
Shangping Village and Xiaping Village are a few hundred meters apart, both have places to stay. Local people have converted their houses. Prices are per person. If you need to bring camping gear up the mountain for heavy-duty hiking, you can ask villagers to use the small cable car (for a fee) at the hiking entrance.

✏️Practical Tips: ♻️♻️♻️
Along the way, we saw a lot of trash left by hikers. Since you can carry your backpack up, please take the empty bottles, cans, and food packaging back down in your backpack. The mountain path is difficult, and the villagers are very simple. Their lives are already hard enough. Do they have to clean up the trash for everyone?
We hope everyone can maintain the free hiking route well. Don't wait until it starts charging and then complain.
