A secluded paradise hidden in Xianju, Taizhou, Zhejiang, it is only accessible by a 2-hour hike as there are no roads leading to it. Known as the 'Shangri-La of East China', it is a breathtaking secret haven that refreshes the soul.
Gongyu Village is located in Xianju, Taizhou, Zhejiang. Admission is free, and the way to get there is to drive to Qiankeng Village and then hike up the mountain. Be sure to prepare enough dry food and water, as there are supplies in the village, but the options are limited. A full day of hiking can be really exhausting, so be sure to choose a comfortable accommodation to rest well!
Hiking along the stream towards Gongyu Village, you will occasionally need to cross the stream and hop on stones, enjoying the fun of nature. In the embrace of the wild, plants grow wildly, forming small forests that make you feel as if you are in a fairyland.
Upon arriving at the village, take a short rest before continuing to the back of Gongyu, where you will see magnificent scenery with towering peaks and terraced fields. The village is isolated from the world, resembling a paradise on earth that makes visitors linger and forget to return.
Gongyu Village's scenery has no relation to Shangri-La city, but it can be called the 'Shangri-La of East China' because the village is secluded and nestled in a secret spot beneath the mountains. Hiking into the village allows one's spiritual world to be elevated through exploration and to become one with nature.
