Jiuli Lake in Putian - Travel Tips and Things to Do

🎊The waterfall at Jiuli Lake is spectacular! It's definitely worth a visit.

1️⃣Self-driving🚖
🌍Navigate to the entrance of Jiuli Lake Scenic Area. If the parking lot at the entrance is full, staff will not allow you to drive up. You will be directed to a large parking lot about 4 km from the entrance, and then take a free shuttle bus to the entrance. On the way back, take the shuttle bus at the entrance to the large parking lot, and then drive back.

2️⃣Public transportation
🚄Take a high-speed train to Xianyou or Putian Station, then take a taxi or bus to Shangkun Bus Station. Take bus 661 or 662 to the large parking lot (about 0.5h), and then take a free shuttle bus to the entrance (about 10 min). On the way back, take the free shuttle bus at the entrance to the large parking lot (about 10 min), and then take bus 661 or 662 to Shangkun Station (about 30 min), and then return to the high-speed train station.

❗️Note: The last free shuttle bus from the entrance to the large parking lot is at around 17:00, so plan your time accordingly. You can check the bus schedule and real-time updates on the bus app.

🎊Bead Curtain and Jade Bead are the twin waterfalls that everyone goes to take photos of. The rocks near the waterfall are a bit slippery, so be careful! It takes 1.5-2h to walk to the shuttle bus return point. The walk to the waterfall is mostly downhill, so it's not strenuous. If you choose to walk back, you will need to climb some stairs, which takes about 3h in total.

🎫Tickets:
💰Tickets can be purchased online or offline. Full-price tickets for adults are CNY 50/person, and tickets for students, children, and seniors are CNY 25/person.
🚞The return shuttle bus is CNY 10/person, and it takes you to the entrance.

❗️Tips
🌂Bring an umbrella or a disposable raincoat. A disposable raincoat is recommended as it offers better protection. The mist is heavy when taking photos near the waterfall!
✅Check the weather. A few days after it rains is a great time to visit. The more it rains, the more spectacular the waterfall.
🍔Bring some food and water to eat during breaks!
👟Wear comfortable shoes. Waterproof shoes are even better, so you don't have to worry about getting your shoes wet when taking photos near the waterfall!
📱The mist will wet your phone lens, making photos blurry, so find a good angle and take photos quickly!
