Deep Autumn at Mount Siguniang

1. Pre-trip Preparation

Clothing: The weather at Mount Siguniang is unpredictable, and temperatures are quite low in late autumn. It is recommended to bring warm clothing such as a windbreaker, down jacket, gloves, and hats.

Transportation: It is recommended to drive or hire a car. The distance from Chengdu to Mount Siguniang is about 175 kilometers, approximately a 3-hour drive. You can enjoy the natural scenery of the Wolong Nature Reserve along the way. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station to Siguniang Town.

2. Accommodation Recommendations

It is recommended to stay in Siguniang Town or Xiaojin County, where the altitude is moderate, there are many dinner options, and breakfast is available before 7:30 AM. Choose inns or hotels with good reviews and convenient locations, such as "Yunduan Inn".

3. Scenic Spots

1. Shuangqiao Valley

Opening Hours: 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Recommended Spots:

Redwood Forest: At an altitude of 3840 meters, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, it is an excellent spot for photography.

Budala Peak: Named after its resemblance to the Potala Palace, it is the best place to view and photograph the snow-capped mountains.

Siguniang Lake: The clear water reflects the withered trees, making it a great place to capture reflections of the snow-capped mountains.

Nianyu Dam: You can choose to drift or walk, enjoying waterfalls, streams, and yaks.

Longzhu Lake: A small lake with unique charm, though not as scenic as Siguniang Lake.

Highlights: The iconic spot of Mount Siguniang, a goal for mountaineers, its majestic peak looks even more spectacular in the autumn sunlight.

Yak Meat Hotpot: Fresh and nutritious, a specialty of Siguniang Town.

Tibetan Butter Tea: Unique taste, warms the body and alleviates altitude sickness.

Barley Cake: Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, a local specialty snack.

5. Precautions

Prevent Altitude Sickness: Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and staying up late when you first arrive at high altitudes. Do not bathe or wash your hair in the first two nights to prevent catching a cold. Bring a thermos, glucose, and oxygen bottles as needed.
