Where is the most worthwhile niche destination in western Sichuan this autumn? Of course, it's Majia Valley! You can enjoy the colorful forest, climb snow-capped mountains, and go on a light hike in Majia Valley.
We deliberately chose to go on a weekday, and there were only a few people in the entire scenic area! So, it proves that if you want to have a better travel experience, you have to travel off-peak!
🚗 Itinerary: Depart from Chengdu after work on Friday, stay overnight in Barkam - go to Majia Valley directly on Saturday morning, spend most of the day in the scenic area, go to Miyaluo in the evening, stay overnight in Erguxi - play in Miyaluo on Sunday morning, and return to Chengdu in the afternoon.
🎫 Tickets: The scenic area opens at 9 am, and you must take a sightseeing bus (round-trip CNY 35), and the ticket is CNY 60.
⛰️ Altitude: The starting point of the hike is about 3,700 m, and the altitude rises all the way. The second-to-last lake (Qumei Lake) is 3,900 m, and the Moon Lake at the top is 4,300 m. Be aware of altitude sickness.
🍁 We went in mid-October, and the trees in the valley were not particularly golden at that time, but these days should be the most beautiful time in the valley, with colorful forests all over the mountains.
🍁 The scenic area is pet-friendly, and dogs can enter the boardwalk and sightseeing bus freely. My dog had a great time! However, I hope everyone can protect the environment and keep your dog on a leash!
🍁 Except for the last section of the road to Moon Lake, which is a dirt road, the rest are well-built boardwalks, and there are several restrooms along the way, and trash cans every few hundred meters, which is very convenient for light hiking.
🍁 There are no supply points in the scenic area, so remember to bring your own food and water.
