Henan Xiangyan Temple

Xiangyan Temple is a historic temple located in Baiya Mountain, Cangfang Town, Xichuan County, Nanyang City, Henan Province. It is one of the four famous temples in Central China. Here is a travel guide to Xiangyan Temple:
✅Attraction introduction
Xiangyan Temple was built during the Kaiyuan period of the Tang Dynasty under the supervision of Huizhong, the national master of the Tang Suzong and Tang Daizong dynasties. The temple is uniquely located, with a lotus-shaped terrain, Longshan Mountain to the east, Hushan Mountain to the west, Houling Mountain to the north, and Mianshan Mountain to the south. The temple has several main buildings, including the Mountain Gate, Mahavira Hall, Weituo Hall, and Sutra Library. The Mahavira Hall is particularly important, with murals from the Ming Dynasty covering a total area of 403 square meters, which is very spectacular.

From Shiyan, it takes about 50 km and about an hour to drive to Xiangyan Temple. You can choose the route of Jingzhu Expressway → Nanlan Expressway (Xupingnan Expressway) → Hushan Expressway.

Xiangyan Temple is located in the mountains, so it is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes for the tour.
