Three Days and Two Nights Complete Guide to Xilinhot, Come and Take Notes!

It is said that all the hardworking people in the city yearn for the grasslands, and Xilingol is a great place for you to "go to Banwei."
The vast endless grasslands not only nurture a rich and colorful nomadic tradition but also let people experience freedom and ease from body to soul.
Sasha has been here four times and has compiled this travel guide for you. Remember to save it!

✨Landing at Xilingol Airport, the city center of Xilinhot, the league capital, has many cultural attractions worth seeing.

✅【Beizi Temple】
It is one of the four major temples in Inner Mongolia, originally built in the early Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. Together with the Erlent Taoligai Ovoo behind it, it forms the core of the city. It can be said that Xilinhot developed around it.

✅【Xilin Nine Bends】
The closest grassland river to the city, the Xilin Mother River meanders here, nurturing the Xilin River National Wetland Park. It is very close to the venue of the league-wide Nadam Festival. Although the festival has long ended, it’s still nice to come and feel the atmosphere.

✅【China Horse Capital Core Area】
Located in the southern suburbs of the city, it includes many horse-related businesses. It is recommended to visit the Horse Culture Museum and watch the daily "Mongolian Horse" performance.

✨The Xilingol Grassland is vast. To experience the original beauty of the grassland, it is still recommended to go deep into the grassland and experience the most authentic nomadic life.

✅【Highway 99】
About 130 kilometers from Xilinhot city, in Xiwuzhumuqin Banner. The colorful tourist highway is over 100 kilometers long, along which you can find the lookout mountain where Genghis Khan climbed to seek the white horse, the magnificent Banla Mountain, large areas of birch forest, and pearl-like herds of sheep scattered across the boundless grassland... The highway connects all nine types of grasslands. Personally, I highly recommend the "sparse tree grassland" near Banla Mountain, where you can take photos with solitary trees in the vast grassland—super photogenic.

✅【Xilingol Grassland Volcano Geological Park】
This year, the Ulanhada Volcano is extremely popular and crowded. Actually, about 100 kilometers south of Xilinhot, there is also a volcanic geological park—Pingdingshan, Matishan, Gezishan... many pristine volcanoes to explore at a leisurely pace.

✨【Hotel Recommendation】
Many people want to camp in Mongolian yurts, but since most yurts have limited facilities, with simple bathrooms and bedding, and many small insects on the grassland, if you mind these, it is recommended to stay in city hotels.

This time, Sasha stayed at the Licheng Donggu Hotel in Xilinhot. The location is convenient, with direct access to the grassland by car, and very close to the city’s shopping and landmark attractions.
Comfortable bedding and clean bathrooms are things that were unimaginable in previous grassland accommodations.
The hotel features full smart home technology, allowing intelligent control of lights, curtains, air conditioning, and more.
There is also a well-equipped laundry room with washing and drying facilities, so you can wash your dirty clothes and wear them again the next day.
Additionally, there is a gym and a tea room, perfect for relaxing after a day of activities.
The surrounding restaurants offer many choices, so you can not only stay well but also eat well!
