During this trip to Xingyi, Guizhou, I specifically chose to stay at Fengxi Cave Homestay to experience a luxurious getaway that blends seamlessly with nature. Known as the 'paradise under the Ten Thousand Peaks Forest,' Xingyi, combined with the unique cave design of this homestay, is irresistibly appealing—perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and completely relax.
The hotel is located in Group 2, Changchong Village, Zherong Town, hidden within a natural cave atop a mountain. Opening the door reveals breathtaking views of Wanfeng Lake and the layered mountain ranges. The most unforgettable moment is in the early morning when swallows return to their nests outside the window, filling the valley with vitality. It feels deeply connected to nature, and even breathing feels fresher. The air here is excellent, and at night, the only sounds are the chirping of insects and birds, making it ideal for travelers wanting to shed their burdens and forget urban stress.
The rooms are designed with high-end comfort in mind, with some featuring smart home systems. The interiors are clean and elegant, with thoughtful attention to detail. Upon check-in, the hotel staff proactively assist with luggage and provide attentive service, quickly responding to any needs. Their complimentary afternoon tea and exquisite breakfast are particularly recommended. The restaurant uses local ingredients, and every meal is satisfying and heartfelt.
The hotel's surroundings are very tranquil, creating a relaxed atmosphere suitable for couples, families, or solo travelers. There are many nearby attractions worth visiting. Besides Wanfeng Lake, I recommend exploring the hiking trails of Wanfeng Forest, which offer stunning scenery along the way and small villages to leisurely stroll through. If you're driving, transportation is more convenient as the homestay provides parking. For public transport, you can first reach Xingyi City, then hire a car or take a minibus to the homestay.
Travel Tips: It's recommended to check in early to enjoy afternoon tea while admiring the lake view in the restaurant, immersing yourself in the most leisurely vacation vibe. In the morning, don't miss watching the swallows return to their nests—it's undoubtedly the most enchanting moment of the day.
Booking Tips: These types of cave homestays are limited in number and tend to be fully booked during peak seasons or holidays. It's advisable to book at least two weeks in advance. Choose your room type based on whether you prefer smart home features or lake-view windows. For those who love taking photos, opt for a room with panoramic windows.
City Travel Notes: Xingyi has significant temperature differences between morning and evening, so bring a jacket. The mountainous area has many mosquitoes, so remember to bring insect repellent. Xingyi is ideal for slow travel, so consider staying longer at the homestay to fully enjoy the luxurious and natural vacation experience.
