|An ancient temple with a long history. Baitai Temple, also known as Puhua Temple, is one of the earliest temples in the Hedong region. Most of the buildings in the temple were built during the Jin and Yuan dynasties. With a long history and prominent early style, the temple is home to statues from the Yuan and Ming dynasties, making it a rare and precious historical site.
The main existing buildings include Fazang Pavilion, the east and west side halls, Shijia Hall, the rear main hall, and the west wing room. All other buildings have been destroyed.
Enter Fazang Pavilion and you will see three clay statues of Buddha. The Medicine Buddha is enshrined in the middle, with the Sunlight Bodhisattva and Moonlight Bodhisattva on either side. These statues have plump skin and beautiful shapes. Each one exudes a solemn and sacred aura that will leave you in awe.
Address: Over 200 meters southwest of Guangma Village, Quanzhang Township, Xinjiang County, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province.
Transportation: Take a taxi from Yuncheng Zhangxiao Airport. The journey is about 90.4 km and takes about 1 hour and 57 minutes.
