Travel Diary: One-day Tour of Bifengxia

Today I had a wonderful day in Bifengxia in Ya'an, Sichuan! I set off from Chengdu at 6:30 in the morning and took a comfortable bus booked through Ctrip. I arrived at the scenic spot about two and a half hours later. As soon as I stepped into Bifengxia, the fresh air and the birdsong from afar instantly made me forget the hustle and bustle of the city.
The first stop was the Giant Panda Base, which was the part I was most looking forward to on this trip! The pandas in the park were so cute. Some were lying lazily under the trees, some were eating bamboo, and there was a little panda trying to climb up the slide, which made me and the tourists next to me laugh. The tour guide introduced the living habits and protection work of the pandas, which gave me a better understanding of the survival status of these "national treasures".
At noon, I had lunch at a small restaurant in the scenic area and ordered the local spicy jelly and clear chicken soup, which tasted authentic and appetizing. After eating and drinking, I started to explore the canyon trail. I chose a moderately difficult route, passing through gurgling streams and layers of green forests, as well as several small waterfalls, with picturesque scenery. I stopped at a viewing platform and looked out over the canyon surrounded by mountains. The misty scene was like a fairyland. Although the climb was a bit tiring, every step was worth it!
At around 3 pm, I bought a few panda-shaped keychains as souvenirs at the souvenir shop, and then took a leisurely walk back to the entrance. Before leaving, I drank a glass of freshly squeezed juice in the rest area and quietly felt the tranquility of this natural place. In the evening, I took the bus back to Chengdu. Although I was a little tired, I was full of satisfaction.
Bifengxia not only has charming natural scenery, but also a touching ecological conservation story. This trip has given me a lot of gains. Thanks to Ctrip's convenient service for making everything so smooth! I want to come again next time to explore more untraveled trails!
