Kitakyushu Travel: Showa Retro-Style Casual Yakiniku

During my trip to Kitakyushu, I visited a relative's house and ended up going out for dinner together. They took me to a yakiniku restaurant 🥰

The concept of the restaurant is 'Showa Retro-Style Casual Yakiniku,' and honestly, both the name and the exterior of the place are a bit tacky, haha. But apparently, that's intentional. While the interior isn't modern, it’s surprisingly clean and tidy ✨

Even the background music is from the Showa era 🎶

Here, you can enjoy high-quality meat, mainly Kuroge Wagyu, at reasonable prices 🥰

It’s a place where you can casually dine, whether you're in a small group or with family, and it seems to have a lot of loyal local customers ❣️

I was curious about the 'Ikafe.'

What is it??
Apparently, 'fe' means sashimi, and it’s a dish of fresh squid sashimi mixed with radish and cucumber in a sweet and spicy sauce. It’s the perfect dish to pair with alcohol 🍺

The 'Wagyu Lean Beef Tataki' was light and had a perfectly balanced seasoning 👍 I absolutely loved it 🥰

Overall, the meat quality was excellent, not greasy at all, and didn’t leave me feeling heavy. You can really tell they use top-notch meat ❣️

Especially the 'Special Wagyu Loin,' which uses A5-grade Kuroge Wagyu ribeye. The tenderness unique to Wagyu is just irresistible 🤤

Also, the sweet sauce was absolutely delicious ❤️

The offal was plump and juicy ♡

The 'Yukgaejang Soup' was piping hot and packed with meat 😍

Even the rice was incredibly tasty 🍚
(I know, I keep saying everything is delicious, my lack of vocabulary 🤣)

To finish, I had the 'Original Spicy Ramen.'

The broth, made with beef, gochujang, and clams, was rich and flavorful, clearly different from the usual 🍜

I ended up drinking all the soup and left completely stuffed 🤣

Even though it was a weekday, the restaurant was packed and lively, and the service was excellent 🥰
