Zao Ski Resort - A stop you can't miss in your lifetime
From Yamagata, you can take the Yamagata-Zao Onsen Line directly to Zao Onsen Station (1,200 yen for adults, 600 yen for children) and walk about 300 meters to arrive (there is also a map outside the bus station to show you how to get to each ski slope) and it will take 40 minutes to arrive.

All access to the ski slopes and the top of the mountain is by swiping a cable car ticket. A one-day ticket is generally 6,000~7,000 yen for adults and 4,000~4,500 yen for children; a half-day ticket (after 1pm) is 4,500~5,000 yen for adults.
Getting to Zao Ski Resort is also very easy.
