Ishiwari Shrine

Ishiwari Mountain is located northeast of Lake Yamanaka, at an altitude of 1,413 meters. At the 8th station, you will find Ishiwari Shrine. It is a rare shrine whose deity is a large rock split into the shape of the kanji character for "stone". It has been said since ancient times that if you pass through the gap in this rock three times, good luck will open up. The water that seeps out of the cracks in the rock is also said to be a sacred water that is effective against eye and skin diseases.
