Must Visit Site in Myanmar -Shwedagon

#createwithtrip to the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar, Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. It is believed that the construction started 2,500 years ago, which would make it the oldest Buddhist stupa in the world. The stupa was built to house relics of Buddha.

Best time to visit is an hour before sunset as the place does not have much sheltered areas and it can get quite hot in the afternoon. Plan for 1.5 hours for your visit, it’s great to sit and watch the world goes by while waiting for the pagoda to be at it’s most beautiful moment during sunset. It’s very calming place too.
