Yantai Mountain is a must-see attraction when traveling in Fuzhou. However, in Yantai, there is another Yantai Mountain. So, I looked up at the sky and sighed, "What a coincidence!"
Like Yantai Mountain in Fuzhou, this is also a consulate area in the late Qing Dynasty. Yantai Mountain is usually the first stop for tourists in Yantai and the first place to see the sea. The street in front of the scenic area is Chaoyang Street, and Suochengli is two blocks ahead.
Yantai Mountain became land in the Tang Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, a beacon tower was built to resist Japanese pirates, and the name "Yantai Mountain" was born. In addition to the consulate area, several Western-style houses, and Bing Xin's childhood residence, the highlights of Yantai Mountain Scenic Area are the Hero Monument, the white lighthouse, and the "Relang Pavilion" with the best sea view. Although the Dragon King Temple is the oldest building on the mountain, it is really simple. Other attractions are just passing by, but several photo spots are worth visiting.
Chaoyang Street was built in the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, but the overall style is the Republic of China style, which is a combination of Chinese and Western styles. The first thing to do when you come out of Yantai Mountain is to buy a cup of freshly squeezed Yantai apple juice at the window of Yantai Beverage Factory. The price is CNY 9.9 per cup. The pure freshly squeezed apple juice is a hundred times better than those refrigerated or NFC 100% apple juices. Then, walk all the way down, and you will find photo spots, either modern or Republic of China style, which are really worth visiting.
As the first stop of the Yantai trip, Yantai Mountain is like an appetizer, followed by Chaoyang Street, Suochengli, and Tianhou Palace... Step by step, you will gradually get into the mood.
