Yantai's Changdao Island is a picturesque haven, renowned for its stunning seascapes, unique rock formations, and rich fishing culture, attracting countless visitors. Here’s a one-day itinerary to help you explore the island’s highlights efficiently.
**Transportation Guide**
1. **Getting to the Island**
 - Take a ferry from Penglai Pengchang Passenger Port to Changdao (approx. 45 minutes, ¥45/person).
 - Ferries run from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, departing every 20-30 minutes.
 - Advance tickets via the WeChat official account "Changdao Ferry Tickets" are recommended to avoid queues.
2. **Island Transportation**
 - **Tourist Bus**: ¥5/person, direct to major attractions.
 - **Taxi/Private Car**: Ideal for groups, costing ¥80–200 (depending on vehicle and route).
 - **Shared Bikes/E-bikes**: Suitable for short trips, but some hilly sections may be tiring.
**Recommended Itinerary (One Day)**
**Morning: Jiuzhang Cliffs + Moon Bay**
- **Jiuzhang Cliffs** (8:00–10:00): One of Changdao’s most famous sites, featuring dramatic cliffs and sea-eroded landscapes, perfect for photos and ocean views.
- **Moon Bay** (10:30–12:00): A natural bathing beach with colorful pebbles, offering seal shows and water activities.
**Lunch: Seafood at a Fishing Village Restaurant**
- Fresh and affordable seafood like sea urchin, scallops, and mackerel dumplings are must-tries.
**Afternoon: Wangfu Reef + Linhai Fengshan (or Fairyland Origin)**
- **Wangfu Reef** (13:30–14:30): A rock resembling a waiting wife, with a nearby geological museum showcasing Changdao’s history.
- **Linhai Fengshan** (15:00–17:00): Overlooks the Yellow-Bohai Sea boundary, with glass walkways and forest trails for hiking.
 - Short on time? Swap for **Fairyland Origin**, said to be the starting point of the Eight Immortals’ voyage, ideal for sunrise/sunset views.
**Return Trip**
- The last ferry usually departs around 6:30 PM; arrive at the pier at least an hour early.
**Tips**
- **Sun & Wind Protection**: Strong UV rays—bring sunscreen, hats, and a light jacket for chilly sea breezes.
- **Tickets**: Single attractions cost ¥45–80 (discounted passes available; free during holidays like Spring Festival).
- **Tide Pooling**: If time allows, try tide pooling at Fairyland Origin or Moon Bay during low tide.
For a deeper experience, consider an overnight stay to enjoy fishing village nightlife or a half-day boat tour to Wanbird Island.
