A South French estate is hidden inside Banyan Tree Huangshan!
The Sixth Quarter Resort shares the same entrance with Banyan Tree Huangshan, so I took the chance to visit since it’s next door. Non-guests can buy an experience voucher for the cave coffee; with the coffee set, you can also explore the hotel’s public areas. There are greeters at the entrance to check the vouchers before opening the door to let you in.

Turning past the hotel steps, a South French estate comes into view. Stone steps lead straight to the café, with two olive trees planted at the entrance. The arched doorway paired with floor-to-ceiling windows instantly transports you to a completely different exotic atmosphere. Sitting inside the café, outside the door is an infinity pool, below which are terraced rice fields, and further down are tea gardens, with clusters of tea bushes spreading all the way up the bamboo forested hills. The variety of plants creates rich landscape layers, and combined with the blue sky and white clouds, it’s like a scene straight out of a vacation movie.

Besides the plants, the hotel’s public area also raises guinea fowl, large geese, and a water buffalo. There are torch pillars by the fields that light up at night. This hotel is completely different yet harmoniously blends with the neighboring Banyan Tree, which features white walls and black tiles with Huizhou charm. It’s a great place to sit and enjoy a coffee. For guests, it’s said to be all-inclusive, but the hotel is small and pricey, so it’s a bit too expensive to book!
