Three Gorges Travel｜Skip the Dam, Choose Here! Spend just around 100 yuan per person to capture stunning landscape shots

Who understands! When choosing between the Three Gorges Dam and Three Gorges People, I decisively locked in the latter! Personally tested, it’s incredibly photogenic—every snap looks like an ink wash wallpaper!

A big shoutout to taking photos on the boat! The river breeze mixed with water vapor feels super comfortable. No need to deliberately find angles; just lean casually on the railing, look down to fix your hair, and press the shutter for atmospheric masterpiece shots. Get ready for tons of likes on your social feed!

You must visit Ba Wang Ancient Village! The original architecture is exceptionally well preserved, with bluestone paths paired with quaint wooden buildings. Every photo tells a story. Unfortunately, my tour was too rushed, and I only had time to take one photo on P4. I recommend taking your time to stroll around; the village also features many special performances, making it very enjoyable to watch as you walk.

After touring the ancient village, follow the signs downhill—beautiful scenery all the way (P2 to P7 were taken along the route). Your eyes will be busy admiring the views, and you won’t feel tired at all. After about 20 minutes, you’ll reach the “Crying Bride” performance spot, where the actors’ immersion is very strong and deeply moving. Then, walk 15 minutes uphill on the left side to see the waterfall (P5). However, friends who have been to Guizhou might find it a bit small. If you want great photo opportunities, it’s worth a visit since the walk isn’t far.

Group tours are too tight on time; three and a half hours only allows for a quick check-in. I sincerely suggest reserving half a day to take your time photographing—every corner is worth exploring carefully!

I also found a gem for accommodation—the Yage Gathering Hotel (Yichang Riverside Park CBD Shopping Center Branch)! It’s not far from the Three Gorges People Scenic Area, with very convenient transportation. After a long day, you can come back and rest comfortably. The rooms are clean and tidy, fully equipped, and offer great value. You won’t have to rush early the next day to get to the scenic area, making your stay worry-free!
