4-Day, 3-Night Itinerary
Day 1: Wanzai Ancient City → Wentang Ancient Well
- Wanzai Ancient City: Don't underestimate this small city; it hides a charming Gan-style ancient city. Known as the "Hometown of Fireworks and the Birthplace of Lilies," Wanzai offers a unique cultural experience. Be sure to try the Wanzai intangible cultural heritage – large bowl tea – and immerse yourself in the local tea culture. Sitting by the street, sipping tea, and watching people pass by is incredibly relaxing.
- Wentang Ancient Well: This is no ordinary well. Its surface steams year-round, boasting nearly 800 years of history and earning the title of "Thousand-Year Zen Hot Spring." Here, you'll witness a fascinating local custom: residents bring buckets to collect the hot water, then relax in the pavilion for a leisurely foot soak before heading home. It's a scene brimming with local life.
Day 2: Qixing Ridge Skiing
- Qixing Ridge Skiing: No need to travel all the way to Changbai Mountain for skiing! Yichun's Qixing Ridge offers fantastic skiing opportunities. Gear up, glide down the slopes, feel the wind rush past, and experience the thrill of speed and excitement. Even beginners can have a blast.
Day 3: Mingyue Mountain → Mingyue Millennium Love
- Mingyue Mountain: Composed of twelve peaks over 1,000 meters high, Mingyue Mountain features striking peaks and deep valleys. Moon Lake, serene and beautiful, resembles a celestial pool, its clear waters reflecting the surrounding greenery. The Qingyun Plank Road winds through the mountains like a giant dragon, offering a thrilling walk above a deep abyss. Stroll through the dreamy Star Moon Cave, feeling as if you've stepped into the vast starry sky. Don't miss the mountain's icefalls, where flowing water freezes into magnificent cascades, resembling a silver river pouring down from the heavens.
- Mingyue Millennium Love: Besides exciting flash mob activities, the scenic area offers several themed streets worth exploring. The must-see is the "Mingyue Millennium Love" song and dance performance. Even if you know nothing about Yichun, this show will give you a glimpse into its history, culture, and local customs. The stunning stage effects and captivating performances are not to be missed.
Day 4: Yangshan Chan Temple → Nanre Ancient Village
- Yangshan Chan Temple: With over 1,000 years of history, this ancient temple is built into the terrain, its architectural layout resembling terraced fields. Inside, the lingering incense and echoing bells create a sense of tranquility and reverence.
- Nanre Ancient Village: The village features an 800-year-old bridge and thousand-year-old ginkgo trees. Strolling along the village paths, you'll see rolling green hills in the distance, smoke rising from farmhouse rooftops, and stone steps leading upwards. Along the way, you'll find homes displaying their cured meats and free-range chickens leisurely pecking around. Every corner exudes a rich rural atmosphere, as if time has slowed down.
