Fujian Taining Global Geopark, located in Taining County, Sanming City, in northwestern Fujian Province, covers an area of 492.5 square kilometers, of which 252.7 square kilometers are Danxia landforms. Comprising four park areas—Shiwang, Dajin Lake, Baxian Cliff, and Jinluo Mountain—and the Taining Ancient City Tourist Area, the park features typical young Danxia landforms, along with a variety of geological relics, including volcanic rocks, granite, and tectonic landforms. It is a comprehensive geopark and has been designated a National Key Scenic Spot, a National 5A Tourist Area, a National Forest Park, a National Geopark, and a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site.
Taining Geopark is dominated by Danxia landform, and also has granite landform, volcanic rock landform and tectonic landform, forming a large comprehensive geological park. Among them, the Shiwang Park, Dajin Lake Park and the Longwangyan and Dayading Scenic Areas in the Baxianya Park are Danxia landforms, the Jinraoshan Park is a granite landform, and the Baiyashan Scenic Area in the Baxianya Park is a volcanic rock landform.
The most prominent characteristic of the young Danxia landform is its highly developed canyons. A complex fault system formed by multiple phases of tectonic activity, coupled with the action of flowing water, has shaped the Geopark's crisscrossing landscape. The canyon complex, comprising over 80 linear canyons ("One Line Sky"), over 150 lane canyons, and more than 240 gorges, is characterized by its deep canyons, towering red cliffs, numerous caves, and natural ecology.

Taining World Geopark is famous for its unique karst landscape and geological formations. It holds UNESCO Global Geopark status and is significant for its natural beauty and rich geological history, showcasing various rock formations, caves, and fossil sites.
Taining World Geopark is located in Taining County, Sanming, Fujian Province. It can be accessed by taxi from the nearby Taining city center, or by bus from Sanming. There are no metro stations in the area.
The geopark is open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The best times to visit are during the spring and autumn months, as the weather is mild and the park is less crowded.
The entrance fee is around 80 RMB. Tickets can be purchased at the park entrance or online through local tourism websites.
Booking tickets in advance is recommended, especially during peak tourist seasons. A few days in advance should be sufficient to secure tickets, but it’s always best to check availability online.
It takes around 3 to 4 hours to explore the main areas of the geopark, including walking through the geological formations and enjoying the scenic views. For a more leisurely visit, consider a full day to explore the trails and exhibitions.

The best viewpoints include the observation deck overlooking the karst peaks and valleys. The caves and rock formations provide excellent photography opportunities as well.
Start at the main entrance, where you can visit the geological exhibition hall. From there, take a guided nature walk to explore the rock formations, caves, and viewpoints. End your visit at the observation deck for panoramic views of the geopark.
Night visits and light shows are not available. However, special photography tours may be organized during certain seasons or festivals. It's best to inquire locally about any special events.
The park is less crowded during weekdays and in the off-season (winter and early spring). It tends to get crowded on weekends and during public holidays.
The park has basic facilities including toilets, water stations, and rest areas. There are also small shops selling snacks, souvenirs, and drinks near the entrance and key attractions.
